I’m the last guy who is gonna make a big deal about LGB stuff…I don’t know a single other homosexual than myself, and I love what you do while the last thing in life I give a damn about is fashion, clothes, rindstones, feathers and stuff like that. I care about weightlifting, bodybuilding, camping, boating, motorcycles and other customisable engine vehicles and watercraft, tools, baseball, wrestling, construction and building, going on hunting and fishing trips (although I do it for animal watching, not killing…I’m a sucker for all living things), I’m a classically trained musician, and a polyglot/translator/linguist/etymologist/philologist by hobby, by credentials/licenses, by multiple degrees, and by career. I stuck my foot in the gay community’s pool ages ago and could take any guy I wanted, never worrying that I might be turned down and yet instead, I choose to be chaste and for years and years. I am a totally dedicated Christian and so I am looking for what the Lord wants for me and unfortunately, while so many guys out there talk the talk, it’s all BS when it comes down to it and they aren’t really looking for monogamy or a mature relationship and unlike them, I don’t need sex and singles clubs and the likes to satisfy me in the meantime…nor do I think the way they do in terms of guys being physically good enough for other guys as that’s a disgusting and nonsensical way to look at people, especially potential mates. So my point is, I am not at all some weak little sissy pop culture obsessed fashion guru f$&. I appreciate what you do because I think that the music combined with the aesthetic, the dance, and the history behind it makes your show simply an ideal snapshot of what I would call romantic, just as an ivy covered castle ruins, the carnival in Venice, an old speakeasy turned jazz bar, a wooden schooner with staterooms and a crowsnest is, the poems of Chrétien de Troyes, Thomas, Béroul, or El Poema de moo Cid recited in their original dialects, Laïka, Rempetika and Zeimbekiko music and the accompanying dances, or wearing a Victorian tuxedo and walk around Hyde Park would be. I love those objects, that architecture, those styles and those actions which feel so deeply nostalgic to me as if I knew them in another life even though they couldn’t possibly be nostalgic since I am so far removed from them. So realizing that there’s a possibility you don’t think of someone like myself in your audience, which instead you’d generalize in a shallow, materialistic, and simpleton at best caricature makes me just feel a bit odd and even a little embarrassed to not be thought of and given more credit. But, at the same time it’s also not a big deal in the long run…but again, hearing that in the moment is kinda…yea, yowza…
