I work at a homeless shelter and I see these people or people like this doing the same thing. It's really sad to see and even harder for them to stop. Most of the women have childhood trauma, if not it's partying at a young age and getting hooked it's mental illness or combinations of all of it. The guilt is also tremendous and the drugs numb the pain. The men are very similar in their reasons as to why they are on drugs. The drugs today are almost nothing but fentanyl or carfentanyl. It's horrible and we've lost over 20 men and women to drugs or suicide. There needs to be more help from our government there's not a lot of places for them to go for help to get off of the drugs and housing shortages is another problem. It takes a lot of willpower and hard work to turn it all around but it can happen please if you are on drugs reach out for help and keep reaching until you get what you need to be better.
